ONews-id.com(OKU Selatan) Direktorat Jenderal Kekayaan Intelektual (DJKI) Kementerian Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia resmi mematenkan pakaian adat (daerah) atau merek fesyen dan motif milik Kabupaten OKU Selatan “Kain Kawai Kanduk” sebagai hak cipta karya seni pakaian adat (daerah) OKU Selatan.
Sebelumnya Pemerintah daerah kabupaten OKU Selatan melalui Bapedalitbang dan Pembina pengrajin kain kawai kanduk, Isyana Lonetasari Popo Ali telah mendaftarkan kain kawai kanduk sebagai Hak Kekayaan Intelektual.
Kain kawai kanduk bukan hanya digunakan sebagai busana adat, atau pelengkap, namun juga menjadi dekorasi hiasan rumah, seperti sarung bantalan kursi, taplak meja, dan hiasan dinding.
Ketua Dekranasda kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Selatan, Isyana Lonetasari Popo, mengatakan pembuatan kawai kanduk diawali dengan pembentukkan pola motif, yang kemudian disulam benang emas lalu ditenun hingga membordinya.
“Kain indah dengan berbagai motif dan coraknya seperti aneka dedaunan, burung walet, burung merak, burung merpati, juga ada yang mencirikan 6 suku di Kabupaten OKU Selatan yang menandakan bahwa kain kawai kanduk milik daerah ini”,jelas Isyana, Selasa (17-08-2021).
